The Samuel Griffith Society was established in 1992, to educate Australians and undertake and support research about the Constitution, promote discussion of Constitutional matters, and defend the great virtues of the present Constitution. 

The Samuel Griffith Society holds a major conference each year and other events on an occasional basis. The Society is widely renowned for its prestige and the eminence of its speakers. Persons of all ages and from all disciplines are encouraged to attend our events.

The 34th national conference of The Samuel Griffith Society will be held over the weekend of Friday 24 to Sunday 26 May 2024 at the Sheraton Grand Mirage on the Gold Coast.

This year’s conference will feature:

• The Fourteenth Sir Harry Gibbs Memorial Oration, delivered by The Honourable James Edelman, Justice of the High Court of Australia.
• The Second Sir David Smith Memorial Oration, delivered by Professor The Honourable George Brandis KC, 36th Attorney-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.
